Utility Scams On The Rise

Information on Utilities Scams

For anyone who answers hospital phones:

Scammers are a year-round issue, and they are persistent!

We receive word at least a couple times per week of hospitals receiving calls regarding imminent Utility shutoffs.

Please be advised that if there is a concern with your utility bill, a notice will be sent in the mail and by email. Anyone who calls the clinic demanding payment for a utility bill is most likely a scammer.

  • Please do not provide or “confirm” any information including payment details over the phone to someone demanding payment for utilities to stay active.
  • If a number is given to you, please do not call back. We can use the contact number from the statements provided and check through the online portal.

The AP team is more than happy to double-check that the account is in good standing if anyone calls with that information!
