Prior to sharing as always, I do want to remind all team members that this information and email is proprietary to CareVet and for CareVet hospital team member eyes only. Sharing outside of CareVet/with vendors is strictly prohibited.
Now for the news…
We are excited to officially announce that we have agreed on our first ever corporate partnership agreement with Nestle Purina effective January 1, 2025. The agreement runs through 2025, but we feel confident this is very much so just the beginning of a long mutually beneficial partnership to come. Benefits of the deal include rebates on everyday purchases, but is much more than that. Purina has already in good faith graciously supported all of our hospital managers at the Manager Accelerator Program in April/May and we are in discussion for quite a bit more this year (i.e. Clinical Outcomes Research, CTAP, New Grad Training, Customer Engagement Tours, and more). Purina is diving right in. To that end, we encourage you to partner with Purina on one or more of their product lines if it aligns with your hospital’s direction medically.
For some background on Purina, they were founded 130 years ago in St. Louis, MO and are a global pet care leader with a wide range of pet food brands. Their mission is to drive pet nutrition forward and conduct industry-leading researching on the wellbeing of pets.

What incentives are out there for CareVet hospitals and team members?
- Purina4Professionals (P4P) – Purina offers discounted pricing and home delivery to veterinary professionals on www.PurinaForProfessionals.com. Sign up today!
- Rebates on every day Purina purchases to help with BAPS budget spending.
- Special Kickoff Offer – Purina will be sending all CareVet hospitals a sample order of their PPVD Allergy Suite (Allergy Handout attached for reference), designed to support the nutritional management of dogs and cats suffering from adverse food reactions and atopy, as well as two cases of Fortiflora Pro (1 canine and 1 feline – detailer attached for reference). These one-time orders will be processed through MWI and we will be reimbursed by Purina once processed. We will be booting these orders from budget spending once they come through on BAPS/Vetcove.
- Upcoming Race-approved CE – “Nutritional Management of Atopy & Food Allergy in Dogs & Cats” – July 22nd, 2025, 12:00 pm- 1:00pm Central Time. Hosted by Dr. Shelly Adrian, DVM. Flyer attached. More information to come. Let me or Rachel Hartman know if any questions.
- Transition Incentives – If transitioning from another nutrition vendor, Purina will subsidize the transition order. If interested or if questions, reach out to Procurement or your local Purina rep.
- Sponsorship – Purina has already graciously sponsored the Manager Accelerator Program (MAP) in 2025 and we are in discussion for additional sponsorship of CareVet events going forward.
What incentives are out there for clients?
- All current Purina National Promotions for clients and clinics.
- Sample bags/treats and 40% off first time autoships from June 15-July 31.
- $10 OFF, per bag, on EN Brown Bag, running 6/16-7/31/25. Applicable when ordering product through distribution (MWI), clinics will receive the outlined discount, at the time of purchase off their invoice. There is no minimums or maximums, no qualifiers to receive this discount.
When will you hear from Purina? Your local rep should be reaching out within the next 4-6 weeks to schedule a lunch and learn to cover the sample PPVD Allergy Suite and additional resources available to you through the partnership. CareVet hospitals that sign up for the lunch and learn will receive a Nespresso machine. Details attached in the Allergy Lunch and Learn attachment. 🙂
Am I required to partner with Purina and/or carry these products? Absolutely not. The choice of the products you carry and who you partner with is entirely up to the local medical leadership team. That said, we do ask that you hear Purina out on how their products can benefit your clients/pets and your hospital and give them the honest opportunity to partner with you.
Again, we are super excited for the rest of 2025 with Purina and looking forward to partnering for many years to come.
